Different Classes of Aerial Lift
Aerial lifts are a particular type of heavy machinery that enables employees to be lifted into the air. These equipment could be used to carry out maintenance and repairs in places which are high up in the air like on roofs, near street-light fixtures and power lines. Similar to the majority of tools, there are different kinds of aerial lifts that could be used to carry out different jobs. For the utmost safety, every type of different type of machinery requires right training and specific certification prior to using it.

Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts are often referred to as Genie lifts. They are considered the most basic kind of aerial lift. These lifts are made of a platform that is raised up utilizing pneumatic power and are mostly utilized indoors. Typically, scissor lifts are the safest kind of lift models. When completely compressed, these scissor lifts can be driven like large carts. Generally, when the platform is extended, they could not be driven for safety reasons. Before anyone could use these devices, workers must be licensed as operators.

Boom Lifts
Compared to a scissor lift, boom lifts are much more complicated kind of aerial lift machinery. A boom lift has a wide base in order to keep the lift anchored. It utilizes a jointed arm which has a bucket on the end of it. There is a control box situated in the bucket that enables the operator to raise and lower the bucket. As the arm of the boom is jointed, it could move from side to side as well. The boom lift resembles a metal scorpion's tail. Usually, it is used in construction applications outdoors. The boom lift is considered to be more risky to run compared to scissor lifts, hence, operators have to be certified separately for these types of lifts.
