How to Charge a Scissor Lift
Lots of people value the convenience of using a scissor lift. The ease of working and the safety offered from the lift's basket provide much more piece of mind than attempting to complete a similar task working off the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machinery make it the best option for carrying tasks from heights.
Most scissor lifts are operated by batteries which are internally mounted inside the lift's base. These batteries have to be charged after a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is an easy task to charge the batteries. This could be carried out without any particular equipment or tools and requires no heavy labor.
The machine has to be parked near an electrical output so as to prepare the scissor lift for charging. This charging place must also be in a well-ventilated area. After that, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button situated near the control box or the charger, in the lift basket. Find the battery charger on the right side of the base of the lift. Usually, older units will have the charger mounted on the back of the lift.
Then, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be certain you are charging in an area which is well ventilated and after that plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. So as to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any excess length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place while in use, extreme danger could potentially take place.
