Genie Knuckle boom lifts are strong four wheel steering and four wheel drive capable machinery that allow work to be done effectively, even if the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system which enables the user to easily calibrate the equipment and its components. System diagnostics are offered in multiple languages. On the Z-80/60 model, there are dual fuel options available. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is turbocharged, but quiet. It allows for enhanced performance at higher altitudes. Furthermore, it carries more than enough torque for better terrain- and grade-ability.
Improved traction for tough terrain is due to full-time positive traction and four-wheel drive. The Z-135/70 comes standard with four-wheel steering. Optional features on this particular model include crab, coordinated, front wheel, and rear wheel steering to give the machinery more agility. on the Z-80/60 helps improve wheel contact on irregular ground. All of these features truly make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts easier and smoother to use on uneven terrain.
Though these models are larger compared to other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features like continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with incredible reach and range of motion. The design of the Z-boom gives the units exceptional over and up positioning capability which varies from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 model to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 unit. The XChassis expanding axle is an innovatively designed mechanism used for extending and retracting axles out and in of stowed position. If the axle is stowed the width of the Z-135/70 model equipment is only 2.46 meters. For easier transport, the Z-80/60 has fixed width axles.
